MyCleanCity empowers the residents of Petaling Jaya to take an active role to keep the city clean, green and livable. In collaboration with the Petaling Jaya City Council, residents will be able to participate in local governance through the following ways:
a. Resident Complaints: Residents can submit complaints on local problems in their local areas immediately. For the pilot the system will only accept complaints related to garbage, potholes and fallen trees. The complaints will be then channeled to local authorities for action. Residents will be able to track their status of their complaint based on service level agreement times of MBPJ, and take the complaints to the meet the councillor session once a month.
b. Catch the Culprit: Residents can report on recalcitrants who are messing up their neighborhood, or other parts of the city. This can be done by blacklisting loan sharks hand phone numbers, vehicle owners who are involved in illegal dumpings and shop owners who dirty their back lanes.
c. Resident ThinkBox: Residents can present their ideas to the local council if their idea received sufficient support from the other residents. It is a good platform for residents to sharpen their creativity and to contribute towards development of the city.
The system works best if the GPS is switched on, and residents provide clear and complete information for the submission to be processed.
